Body language expert on ‘alpha male’ Trump’s ‘arousal’ in White House smackdown of Zelensky… with help from J.D. Vance

A body language expert described President Trump as an ‘alpha male’ who was in a state of ‘aggressive arousal’ during his Oval Office spat with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Judi James decoded the historic showdown as the two world leaders engaged in a tense war of words in front of cameras on Friday – and Vice President JD Vance played the ‘wingman.’

Speaking with DailyMail.com on Friday following the press conference, James said the encounter revealed ‘alpha male Trump in [a] state of aggressive arousal’.

James said the commander-in-chief had was asserting his authority over the situation. She also waded in on Vance arguing with Zelensky, saying he had acted ‘like the grain of sand that irritates the oyster to produce the pearl’.

‘In animal terms it would be appropriate for a wingman to get into a verbal conflict but not the alpha, who cannot be replaced or be seen losing’, she added.

James continued: ‘So Trump risked a lot when he listened to the two men bickering and finally decided to step into the ring himself.’

Vance then prompted ‘total disengagement’ signals from Zelensky who she said had ‘relentless energy’.

Describing Trump’s eventual intervention, James said: ‘ Trump finally stepped in, taking the battle-baton from JD with a ‘No no no!’ and a raising of both hands to stop the fight.

‘Having called himself a global peace-maker it was ironic to see him try to break up a junior verbal spat only to end up slugging away himself.

‘Trump’s weapon of choice was the raised index finger or ultimate authority. It’s a strong commanding gesture that usually gets obeyed but here it failed to stop the row, with both Trump and Zelensky raising their voices in an overlap of shouting.

UK-based body language analyst Judi James, seen here told DailyMail.com that Trump appeared as the alpha male in the interaction

‘Trump shouted that Zelensky was ‘gambling with WW3’ His face became red with his state of aggressive arousal, and he frowned in what looked like disbelief.

‘When he accused Zelensky of being ‘disrespectful’ his features pinched into a micro-sneer of anger.

‘The ending looked almost like actors leaving the stage though. Ex TV star Trump winked at the audience to suggest it was all ok while ex TV star Zelensky did a thumbs up.

‘Vance walked over and patted his boss in what looked like a bid to prove he had won the bout.’

The yelling match was unlike anything ever seen publicly in the Oval Office. And it played out on TV screens across the world.

Zelensky held his own, even showing Trump photos he brought of the devastation to his country, and arguing he had thanked the American people.

Both men were tense and on the defensive as they repeatedly tried to talk over one another. Oksana Markarova, Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S., seated to the side in the Oval Office, buried her face in her hands.

After the contentious meeting Trump announced he had asked Zelensky to leave.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote:. ‘It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelensky is not ready for Peace if America is involved.

‘Because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage, I want PEACE.

‘He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace.’

After the cameras left the Oval Office, Zelensky went to a holding room in the West Wing. He and Trump did not meet again.

On Friday night Zelensky said he wanted Trump to be ‘more on our side’ and refused to apologize for the Oval Office incident in an interview with Fox News.

He was asked point blank by Bret Baier if he owed Trump an apology and twice filibustered before refusing and instead attempting to be gracious and added ‘I’m not sure we did something bad.’

‘We’re thankful to Americans for all your support, you did a lot, I’m thankful to President Trump and Congress’ bipartisan support. You helped us a lot from the very beginning, you helped us to survive. We are strategic partners.’

When asked again, he refused again and tried to explain his own position.

‘We have to be honest and we have to be direct with each other. Nobody wants to finish more than we because we are in this war, in this battle for freedom for our lives,’ he said.

He said he needs Trump to be ‘on the same side’ and needs him to stop Vladimir Putin.

‘I want President Trump to be more on our side,’ he said when Baier asked if he felt it was okay for Trump to be ‘in the middle’ of negotiations.
