Selena Gomez ‘loses 715k followers’ in last 30 days after posting video crying following Trump order
Selena Gomez has reportedly lost 715k followers in the last 30 days after sharing a video of herself crying over Donald Trump’s actions in his first week in office.
The Only Murders in the Building star, 32, appeared to be visibly upset a day after the newly sworn-in US president ordered a nationwide immigration crackdown, in which the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said there were 956 arrests last week.
Now, according to Social Blade, the ‘Calm Down’ singer has lost over 715,000 followers in the last 30 days, at the time of writing. The follower loss may, or may not, be down the video she shared on 27 January, in which she said: “All my people are getting attacked, the children. I don’t understand.
“I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise.”
Shortly after, she took the video down and uploaded an image of a black screen with the words: “Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people.” Meanwhile, ICE statistics have revealed that over 1,000 people were removed or repatriated last week.
